Calli Jean (414)
Description:
Calli was left outside the SPCA before being adopted. She is not my dog, but I know her owner well. She even had a DNA test done but it only came back with golden retriever and nothing else. We are pretty sure she is not a purebred because she is taller, bigger, and has more coarse fur than a golden retriever. Also, the shape of her head is not like a golden retriever. The last picture shows her compared to the purebred behind.

 What is this Site About?
The idea behind GreatMutts.com is to create a web site that allows people to do what they always do when they see a mutt: try to guess which breeds the mutt has in him/her.
So for each profile you can make multiple breed picks. Then we take your picks and add them to the rest of the GreatMutts.com community and come up with a consensus as to what that dog's heritage is.  The profiles are people's own dogs and dogs from various adoption sites.  So feel free to add a profile of either type.
If you want to comment on the mutt navigate to the Mutt Discussion Page. To see how others voted click on the See How People Voted link.

Godiva (468)
Description:
Obviously Chocolate Lab but mixed with what?? Weighs in at 107 pounds, vet says she's 8/9 for body composition and will not be overweight at 100 pounds. Narrower snout than most labs, wider and deeper chest. Color has a bit more reddish brown than a typical chocolate lab. She has some loose skin under her neck and belly - you can see both in the side view picture. Oh and one last oddity - she is perfectly the same color all over her body except for a 1" patch on her tail that has some steel gray mixed in with the brown. Thoughts?

Loki (467)
Description:
This is my Loki, he was rescued from our local shelter at 4 months old. We were informed that he first - was a Lab mix, then his paperwork stated Doberman/Lab, he currently weighs about 46 lbs. When we chose him he was very shy and fearful of men, I have two adult sons who had to first coral him then carry him out of the shelter. In a few short days he began to live up to his name and although he had a bad case of kennel cough we began to see his true personality. He is very energetic and loves people and other dogs. We are teaching how to properly greet but he just loves to jump all over everyone and give kisses! We keep working. My vet says she sees Terrier in him and we think he may be Doberman/Pitbull. Oddly he has tan/black brindle colored legs, we thought his coat was black but found it to be brown with little spots of tan in some places and white chest. Very interested to find what others think.

Fenway (465)
Description:
We rescued Fenway in January at 10 weeks old from a kill shelter in Tennessee. He was 9 lbs at 10 weeks old. We were told he was a black lab mix, he is all black and his sister was all black with white chest and white paws. He is now 10 months old and only about 22 lbs - the vet said he probably will not be getting any bigger. We have no clue what he is a mix of! He has a very sweet personality - LOVES to play and is VERY active.

Ellie (462)
Description:
Ellie is about 26 pounds now at 12/14 weeks. We were told her mom was a lab/doberman mix. She is smart! She is also very strong for a puppy. I have googled images of many dogs with lab/doberman and her coloring fits for any number of mixes. I welcome your ideas, thanks.

Ginger (460)
Description:
Ginger was 6 months old when we got her. We were told she was a lab chessie mix, with both parents being labs. She is so stricking looking, I wanted to know how to answer "what is she". I thought she liked a bit like a irish setter. We got a dna test kit and when the results came back we found she was a lab aussie mix! She is about 85% lab with about 15% austrailian shepherd. I thought seeing her might give someone else the answer they are looking for. She is the best dog ever. She has the best maners, she is so smart! We just got a new puppy and I am hoping Ginger teaches her the great behaviors she has, we wouldn't trade either of them for a million bucks!

Todd (459)
Description:
This little guy was abandoned outside of PetSmart so we took him in! He is full of energy and is starting to jump, but also loves to cuddle. He was only about 4 lbs when he was 10 weeks old. Now, he is growing quickly, but staying rather slender. He is probably around 7 lbs and 3.5 months old. I'm really curious how big he might become!

Bowie (457)
Description:
Bowie was about 6 months old in this photo. She's now 11 months old. At the shelter they told us she was a doberman/lab mix. She has a lot of personality traits of both. She has major separation anxiety, she's very attached to me. Everywhere I walk to in the house she is literally right behind me. She always has to be touching you as well, or have you in very near sight. She's protective but doesn't seem to be too threatening. She looks a lot like a black lab, but has more brown now on her head, ears and fronts of legs. But what throws us off is that she has some white/grey on her back legs, tail and a bit on her tummy. She is very smart, energetic and happy! I walk her at least 3-4 miles a day, sometimes twice a day.

Loca (456)
Description:
Loca was given to my son about 4 months ago. We think she is now about 6 months old. The only thing we were told was that she was a Pug mix. Our Vet told us she was a Terrier/Pug mix. My husband thinks she is a Fox Terrier/Pug mix. I think she is a Jack Russell (broken coat)/Pug mix. What do you think?

Marty MacDougall (455)
Description:
Marty & I joined forces about 16 months ago. I found him via a rescue online & fell in love with his picture. Once I met him, it twas true LOVE!!!! We're inseparable! I work outdoors & he accompanies to work daily. Not a whole lot is known about him. We figure he's about 8 years old & everyone thinks he's a mix of Bernese, Australian Shepherd & Border Collie. However, I'm convinced he has a little something else in him! Let's see if anyone picks up what i do:) He weighs about 70 pounds (down from 82).
