We adopted Mack from the pound 10 years ago. He's a very smart dog and was able to be taught tricks by a 10 year old. (sit, stay, come, shake, beg, roll over, speak). He likes to chase cats but is affectionate with small kittens. I think he has some jack russell terrier in him but I'm not sure. |

Her name is Madison, but we call her Madi. We adopted her from a shelter and we were told she is between 6-12 months, weights 28 pounds and is a Jack-Russell Terrier Mix. She is the biggest Jack-Russell Terrier I have ever seen. lol. We think she has Dalmatian and Pit Bull in her as well. She bites and licks everything in her path and loves to run and play. She is full of energy and a little goofy at times. Our cats are freaked out by her, but that’s probably because they don’t know what she is and she persists on grooming them. What do you think? |

Hi, everyone! My name is Maggie. I just turned 2 years the last week of April. My mommy adopted me from a local rescue shelter. The lady says my mom is a AKC registered black lab, but she didn't know what my daddy was. The vet says I'm just a small lab, thats only supposed to weigh about 35-40 lbs. We think she's wrong cause I look my best at about 50 lbs. I weigh about 65 lbs right now, mom says its cause I don't have a full line. Standing on my hind legs, I'm as tall as grandma and she stands a little over 4 foot. I've got the exact temperment of the lab. Mom even says that when I was a puppy she thought I was full blooded, cause I chewed on everything and was stubborn with the training. I love to sass, I get my way cause I'm beyond spoiled. I absolutely LOVE water, I even have my own swimming pool. My favorite past times are chasing squirrels and visiting neighbors, they all love me. Can you please help my mommy figure out what my mix is? I have a treat betted on this. |

Maia is a rescue that we just adopted. The organization guessed that she was a Rottweiler/Shepherd mix, but we are fairly certain this cannot be correct. She is tall, but only weighs 35lbs and we believe she is APPROX 10 months old. My best guess would be a Doberman mix with some sort of smaller breed, despite her long legs and skinny lower half. These are images of her, some with our Westie for comparison. |

I found Matza abandoned in a box on the side of the road. The vet estimated her at 6-7 weeks old and that was a week and a half ago.
We can't figure out what she is. She definitely looks beagle-ish to me and the vet saw some of that. But, the snout is a mystery to us... it's not beagle. The vet also said possibly some lab and definitely some terrier, maybe some hound. Lately, a few people have suggested Pitbull- I hope not, but, I suppose she's enough of a mix that it doesn't matter.
Anyway, I'd love to hear what some people on here think... |

Maverick is a border collie and english setter mix we believe and weighs about 70lbs. My husband adopted him from the shelter he voluteered at when Maverick was 7 and he is now 13. He is black and white with long legs, a short neck, long head and nose and long tail and leg hair. He is very smart. He loves to talk to you and give you hugs and has lots of energy especially for his age. He loves ALL people and animals(except for birds). He also likes to sneeze on you when he's excited. He loves to play fetch especially with his PINK sqeaky bone. :) He will be with us 'til he passes away. |

Max is my fiance's dog, although he is now both of ours. He is seven years old and was also found as a stray at about a year old. We believe he is Australian cattle dog mixed with german shepherd. He is quite lazy and loves to be with his people. He is about 55 pounds of love! He is 23" at the shoulder. |

Found in a dumpster in Kentucky as a 4 week old puppy. The shelter guessed him to be a mix that I'm doubting now that he's fully grown. He's about 35 lbs. and about 18" tall at the shoulder. He's 4 years old now. He's very snuggly and loves to cuddle head first into you, like a cat. |

Max is a 4 1/2 month old puppy. We got him from ARF in maryland for our 6 month old son Ryan. He is verry sweet and verry nutty at times. He loves his squeeky toys and our sons stuffed animals. At the shelter they told us that him and his brother are beagle/sheppard mix. I belive that he may be a coonhound mix. He is going to be a big boy, at 4 months old he weighed 35 lbs already. He is great with kids and other people. He barks at our fish and pet rat, and then at times for no reason. He and our son love to tag team plants at grandma's house or the christmas tree at home. |

He's around 70 pounds.
We adopted this awesome guy from the humane society, the same place we got our dog who passed away before him from. He was 6 weeks old when we got him and looked like a stuffed animal. He's now three years old, and I'm curious as to what he is. Either way, he's really sensitive and tends to play mommy to our crazy husky. We all love him. He's the best dog anyone could ask for. |

I know for 100% certainty what mix this dog is. (She was a result of an accidental breeding we had many years ago before we learned better.) Millie is a great dog that we got from the pound. She is almost 2, very playful, friendly and curious. She is pretty smart and seems to be very in tune to our emotions. She is very "mothering" toward us and seems to look after small children. She loves to chase and watch squirrels. She has tons of energy, but is also content to be a couch potato with us! She's about 2.5 feet tall and close to 50 lbs now. She has a fluffy tail that curves up when she is happy. She also has very fluffy "pantaloons" on her back legs and a furry neck. When it's humid she gets very frizzy, crimped hair on her ears and tail. We think she's part Germen Shepherd, but other than that, who knows! (Millie just came home from the pound in the picture where she's outside- her fur is pretty matted in that one, but its the best one to see her coloring and fluff!) |

We rescued Milo after someone found him with his mom and nine siblings on the side of the road. The rescue organization told us Great Pyrenees/Border Collie/Irish Wolfhound mix, so far no one agrees with that combo. He is a short haired, tall dog, already 50 pounds and only 5 months old, these pictures were taken about a month ago, and already his legs are much longer! A few people have thought Great Dane, any ideas? |

Miranda is a beautiful Spayed, female siberian husky mix. She is 2 years old as of April 2009. Miranda is 51 pounds and has a beautiful white and silver gray coat of medium length. She is full of energy and was given up becuase her owners lost their job and had to move. She is great around most dogs, except the smaller ones. She is create trained and is good on the leash. She would be great in a home with a fenced yeard with room to run and exercise. |

Missy is 20" at the shoulder and weighs about 50 lbs at 2 years old. I adopted her in April of 2007 and she's been with me ever since. She loves chasing things, playing, and is very friendly with other dogs and most people, though she is definitely "my" dog.

Moe, affectionately known as "The Moedoggie!", came to us when he was four-years-old from a doggie foster care situation. He is now eight years old and he weighs about 43 pounds (although he is on a prescription diet - vet says he should weigh between 35 & 40 pounds - he loves to eat obviously!).
Moe rarely barks (although he does make this weird, high-pitched yawning noise when he wants something!) and he is very friendly, sweet and docile (although he does love to play with his soft squeaky toys!). Very good with everyone, including children! He generally gets along with other animals, although bigger dogs sometimes freak him out.
We're not sure about his breed, although he does remind us of a large, calm Jack Russell terrier. Any thoughts? |
